As part of the local effort to bring Amazon’s second headquarters to the Charlotte region, a video proposal in the submission highlights Charlotte’s growth, demographics, cost of living, weather, area attractions and other factors.
In the video, Charlotte is called “New York’s polite cousin” for its No. 3 bank-town ranking. It also highlights Charlotte being the top-ranked city millennials are moving to, according to an oft-cited SmartAsset study from August. The video features spoken-word artists Carlos Robson, Boris “Bluz” Rogers and Jacinda Jacobs, a Charlotte Hornets co-host.
FLICK Studios, a Charlotte production agency, produced the video.
The Charlotte Regional Partnership is leading the local effort to bring Amazon HQ2 to the area. The proposal, submitted to Amazon by the Oct. 19 deadline, also includes details about 21 potential headquarters sites from six counties, 40 letters of support from Charlotteans and incentives (though that information has not been publicly disclosed).
More than 50 organizations worked on the local proposal for Amazon HQ2, according to the Charlotte Regional Partnership.
